Welcome to the Old Melbourne Gaol! Visit the original 1840s Gaol where Ned Kelly was executed, tour the Watch House and learn about Victoria's most colourful criminals of the past. The precinct includes Melbourne's oldest prison, the historic Magistrate's Court and former Police City Watch House and has been the heart of crime, law and order in Melbourne since the 1840's. Bushranger Ned Kelly and notorious gangster Squizzy Taylor have spent time within its walls.
Includes single entry general admission to Old Melbourne Gaol. The Old Melbourne Gaol is located at 377 Russell St (between Victoria and La Trobe St). You can visit three sites at the one location including the original Gaol, former City Watch house and Court One of the Old Magistrate's Court. Open every day (except Christmas Day and Good Friday) from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Operational hours are subject to weather conditions and may be changed without notice.
