Our ferries depart from the Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal, Marina Boulevard, Cullen Bay. Ferry crossing time is approximately 2.5 hours. There is free all-day parking at the ferry terminal and other car parks at Cullen Bay. Passengers should arrive at the ferry terminal 30 minutes prior to their departure time. Advance bookings essential.
Take the 2.5 hour ferry trip to Bathurst Island and meet your local guide for a journey through the progressive community of Wurrumiyanga.
Visit the Culture Museum with its fascinating displays of traditional art and depictions of the Tiwi 'dreamtime' stories as well as visiting the Mission Precinct with its unique Catholic Church. Hear the colourful history of the early mission days. Enjoy morning tea with the Tiwi ladies who will also perform a smoking ceremony to bless visitors. Drop in to the arts and crafts centres and see where the artists work. You also have the opportunity to purchase Tiwi arts and crafts and screen-printed fabrics. Learn some of the complex rituals associated with the Pukamani (burial ceremony) before departing Bathurst Island for Darwin.
Lunch is not included but can be purchased on board the ferry.
